This committee has soared this year!

 

They have served meals twice for "Soul Food" days at LaGrange College.

They deliver Meals on Wheels every Friday, in partnership with St. Peter's Catholic Church.

They organized a Cornhole Competition that raised over $7,000 and presented the funds to the Branches of Hope organization, which offers a meal, shower, and a bed to the homeless each night.  They have served a dinner at the shelter and will be serving another meal there.

They volunteer at the Food Closet at LaGrange Personal Aid on a rotating basis with other churches.

They delivered gift cards and water to tornado victims in West Point, Georgia

They collect food for 40 baskets of Thanksgiving meals to give to the needy.

They create "blessing bags" for members to give to the homeless.

They hosted the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-off with other churches competing.  Two students from LaGrange College judges and the winners were Adina Roland and Jim Flavin from St. Mark's Episcopal Church and Louse Coniglio from St. Peter's Catholic Church.

The sponsored eight raised beds and encouraged members to create their own gardens and share the harvest.

Pets are included in outreach during the Blessing of the Animals.

They kicked off the formation of Advent's "Green Team."

In the fall, a Low Country Shrimp Boil will take place for the third time.

Events coming up:
September 20, 8:00 a.m. to Noon - Indoor Yard Sale in the church's fellowship hall. Always great bargains. Credit cards will be accepted. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Harmony House, the local shelter for women.
October 25, 5:00 p.m. Low Country Shrimp Boil - cooking in the courtyard, eating in the fellowship hall. Proceeds from this event will go to the Food Closet at LaGrange Personal Aid. Tickets are $15.00 and can be purchased in the church office in advance.
Volunteers are needed for both events as well as
October 28, 11:15 a.m. Soul Food at LaGrange College. We'll be serving students Sloppy Joes and fixin's.
