History

Lutheran means we were established in the early 1500s when Martin Luther, an Augustinian friar, Catholic priest, and a professor at the University of Wittenberg, was a catalyst for the Protestant Reformation with the publishing of a list of 95 Theses - things he disagreed with in the Roman Catholic Church of his time. Luther believed that we are saved by grace through the faith in Jesus Christ. It is not about the works we do, though they are an important way we show love for our neighbor. Our works do not guarantee our salvation but God’s love and forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus do.

Advent Lutheran Church was chartered in LaGrange, Georgia in 1982 after Pastor/Developer Rev. Jeffrey Lingle spent a great deal of time going door to door, choosing a site, and approving the architect's plans for the church building.  Since then, we've been blessed with a diverse cast of ministers/pastors who have fed our souls with the Good News.

Below our current pastor, Rev. Leslie White inspires us to "approach the throne of grace boldly.  Invest in the hope that we may be like Him."
